Beyond Borders: Art in Dialogue

Artistic Dialogues and Harmonious Borders

Marking the National Day of People with Disabilities in 2025,

MODU ART SPACE has organized an exhibition that gathers well-experienced artists

who have led disability art as well as young artists seeking new possibilities.

As different perspectives and methods of expression meet and communicate,

this exhibition aims to explore the harmonious boundaries within them.

The exhibition features sixteen participating artists, nominated through a contest,

providing an opportunity to experience in-depth work by artists

who have built their own formative language for a long period of time,

as well as experimental and fresh attempts by emerging artists in one place.

In the process of each different personality and artistic flow intertwining,

the original possibilities of disability art become clearer.

The exhibited works encompass a variety of media, including paintings and videos,

holding creative explorations that push the boundaries of disability art.

Works that address disability through sensible formative language,

those that have expanded beyond personal experience to universal messages,

and experimental attempts to explore new forms and media are crucial elements to note in this exhibition.

These attempts to broaden the horizon of expressions beyond simple representations display

how disability art can form a dynamic discourse within contemporary art

rather than remaining as a specific category.

MODU ART SPACE hopes this exhibition becomes an opportunity

to expand awareness of disability and further establish it

as an independent artistic practice in Korean contemporary art.

We send our attention and support to those who explore new possibilities through creation.
